23KV Pole Replacement and Transfer

Marblehead Municipal Light Department (MMLD) receives its power supply via twin, 23kV feeders sourced from National Grid’s Railyard substation in Salem, Massachusetts. MMLD assumes ownership for these circuits and their associated infrastructure from National Grid near Ocean Ave in Salem, where it exists as two vertically oriented, overhead circuits in spacer cable configuration above the Salem Bike Path. From the point of demarcation, the circuits span seven, 45-foot, wooden poles before transitioning to an underground configuration to the city limits.
