How to Respond to DLA’s Sharkcage Shelter and Storage Items RFI

Defense Logistics AgencyCloses October 31, 2026

What DLA is researching

The Defense Logistics Agency is conducting market research on suppliers for nine Sharkcage shelter, container, cover, and storage-system items. DLA Troop Support is considering whether to issue a solicitation under a long-term contract that could run for up to five years.

This is a Sources Sought Notice, not a solicitation or request for proposals. The requirements are currently sole-sourced to Sharkcage, Inc. Responding is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information submitted.

Deadline and what it means

Contact DLA by October 31, 2026, at 6:00 PM ET. The notice was published October 1, 2026.

This deadline is for market research responses, not bids on a contract award. If DLA later issues a solicitation, it will be announced on SAM.gov, and interested vendors are responsible for monitoring that site.

Who this opportunity may suit

This notice may suit suppliers with experience in shelters, shipping and storage containers, covers, or related storage systems, particularly firms able to provide technical documentation for the listed Sharkcage items.

A complete technical data package is required for interested contractors. It must include the original manufacturer’s drawings so the Engineering Support Activity can review and compare them.

How to access and respond

To view the opportunity, click “View original source” on the portal. If the first click opens the portal homepage, click it again to go to the bid. A free account may be needed to view documents, though many opportunities do not require one.

Contact Avril Dickerson, DLA Troop Support – Directorate of Construction and Equipment, before October 31, 2026, at [email protected] or 445-737-7976. Prepare the complete technical data package, including a copy of the original manufacturer’s drawings. The drawings are proprietary to the manufacturer and are not held by the Government.

Prepare a clear, useful response

Review the attachment for details on the nine items, then organize your response around the specific items your firm can support. Make the technical package complete and easy to review, and check that the manufacturer’s drawings are included.

Because this is market research rather than a competition, distinguish clearly between what your firm can provide now and what would need further review. Keep a copy of your submission and watch SAM.gov for any later solicitation.
