How to bid on UCLA building automation job orders
What UCLA is buying
UCLA Capital Programs is seeking a contractor for as-needed building automation construction, repairs, and alterations at the Westwood campus and other University-owned facilities. Work will be issued through Unit Price Job Orders for Facilities Management projects.
The one-year base term has a combined job-order cap of $3 million. Each one-year option term, if exercised, also has a $3 million cap. Individual job orders range from $1,000 to $1.8 million for projects with multiple trades, or $50,000 to $1.8 million when the job consists only of this trade.
Key dates and the bid deadline
The pre-bid conference is November 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific. Bids are due December 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific. The deadline is also listed as 5:00 p.m. ET.
Submit the bid exactly as the advertisement directs and before the deadline. The listing describes this as a sealed-bid solicitation, so follow the advertisement’s instructions for where and how to deliver the bid.
Who this opportunity suits
This IFB may suit construction firms with building automation experience that can handle on-call work across UCLA facilities and price work through unit-price job orders. Bidders must meet the applicable contractor licensing requirements.
At least 51% of each job order’s work must fall within the advertised license classification. Incidental work outside that classification may not exceed 5% of the job order sum unless the contractor holds the additional specialty license or subcontracts that work to an appropriately licensed firm.
