On-Call Construction III: Suspended Pipeline Insulation Removal & Remediation

Aurora Water contracted Jacobs to perform condition assessments of 14 suspended water and wastewater pipelines attached to bridge structures. During these assessments, Jacobs identified six pipelines (four water and two wastewater) requiring additional investigation required due to limited accessibility and insulation concealing portions of the pipelines. Existing inspection methods, including borescope inspections, have been insufficient to determine whether observed corrosion and deterioration are isolated near bridge abutments or extend along additional pipeline sections.
