Sheldon Road Profile Raising & Bridge Replacement

The Sheldon Road Profile Raising Bridge Replacement Project (Project) is located along Sheldon Road, on the community border of Brook Park and Middleburg Heights. The project is located within the Abram Creek watershed, a tributary to the Rocky River. Local flooding occurs as early as the 2-year storm event along a portion of Sheldon Road, between Eastland Road and Engle Road, leading to impassable flooding of Sheldon Road. A contributing factor to the flooding is the existing cast-in-place reinforced concrete rigid frame (box) structure beneath Sheldon Road, which is in a state of deterioration.
