3. REQUIREMENTS

3.1 ;The SCREW, CAP, SLFLKG must be in accordance with FF-S-86 TY 8, NiCu 0.250-20UNRC-3A X 0.500 long, except as amplified or modified herein.; 3.2 ;Self-locking element must be in accordance with MIL-DTL-18240.;

3.3 FF-S-86 mechanical property and metallographic testing sample sizes must use ASQ Z1.4 Inspection Level S-1 with AQL = 4.0. NOTE: The sample size values must conform to either FF-S-86 Revision E and earlier revisions or FF-S-86 Revision J and later revisions.

3.4 Self-Locking screws must be marked with six dots. Where no contract invoked specification or drawing requirement exists for this marking, self-locking fasteners must be marked with six dots approximately…
